We are pleased to inform our readers that the results of the 2024 Student Needs and Satisfaction Survey are now available.

Our aim is to use these insights to continuously improve our services and better align them with the needs and expectations of our students.

On our website, we provide an overview of the survey results and have also made more detailed analyses available for those interested.

Out of 26,798 eligible students, 1,048 (3.9%) completed the survey, the majority of whom (77%) are aged 18–24.

Of the respondents, 91% (956 students) are full-time students.

Communication

Along with the most popular platforms, such as the library website, Facebook, and Instagram, one-third of students receive information through the library newsletter, while 21% rely on posted posters.

Library usage habits

Students primarily visit the library for individual study, where they can enjoy a quiet and focused environment. Many visit the library regularly, occasionally, or several times a week. They actively make use of a wide range of library services, and in addition to traditional book lending, they also utilize communal spaces designed for group study, providing opportunities for collaborative projects, presentations, and exam preparations.

Library opening hours

32% of respondents prefer to use the library only during the day in the regular semester, 21% until 8 PM, and another 21% until 10 PM. In contrast, during the exam period, most students would like to study in the library until midnight or even into the early morning hours. However, 15% of respondents would not study in the library during exams.

Library services

Most students have a positive opinion of the library services. While students are receptive to using digital documents, there remains a strong demand for printed books.

Borrowing, reservations, and renewals are the most popular services, with 95% of students expressing satisfaction. Specialized literature assistance and information also received highly positive feedback, with a satisfaction rate of 94%. Furthermore, 85% of respondents are satisfied with the printing, photocopying, and scanning services.

Library staff

86% of respondents positively rated the helpfulness of the library staff and the professional expertise of the librarians.

Summary

The results of the 2024 Student Needs and Satisfaction Survey show sustained interest in library services.

Data on library usage highlights that students value a quiet environment for studying and research. To meet this demand, the library has already implemented improvements and will continue to focus on providing peaceful study areas, comfortable seating, and extended hours.

The library's document services remain top-notch and are regularly updated to better serve students' needs. Its communication channels effectively reach students, with updates, services, and news shared on the platforms they actively use.
