Turnitin Plagiarism Detector

With the Turnitin plagiarism search service provided by the University of Pécs Library and Knowledge Centre, you can compare the text of submitted papers with the largest scientific databases on the Internet and other publicly available sources.

Who can use the service?

Teachers and PhD students of the University of Pécs. Employee status is checked in the employee database.

What can you use Turnitin for?

The Plagiarism Checker can only be used by UP lecturers and PhD students to check plagiarism in the submitted papers of UP students.

How does Turnitin work?

The system will indicate if it finds a match between the content of the uploaded essay and the reference databases. The documents showing the percentages of matches and the corresponding links are available in the system.

Why is it important to use a plagiarism detector?

The software helps teachers to make informed decisions when assessing the papers submitted to them and to obtain reliable results on the originality of the papers examined.

What files can you upload?

Supported file formats are DOC, DOCX, PDF, Corel WordPerfect, HTML, TXT, RTF, ODT, HWP, HWPX, PPTX, and Google Docs via Google Drive.

File size must be less than 100MB and less than 800 pages.

Can you tell what percentage of a paper was written using artificial intelligence?

Turnitin only supports English, Spanish and Japanese for this feature. If the essay is written in these languages, the filtering can be done, but Hungarian is not yet supported.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that most of these services are not fully reliable and may give wrong results, so it is recommended to treat the results with caution!

How can you register?
