In 2023, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the relocation of the Erzsébet University of Sciences, which was originally founded in Pozsony (Bratislava) in 1914. After the First World War and the Treaty of Trianon, following a brief period of operation in Budapest, the university moved to Pécs. In the aftermath of the Serbian occupation, the university faced financial difficulties, and its accommodation was resolved by converting and allocating buildings located throughout the city. This situation had a lasting impact on the spatial organization of the university. Our thematic tours invite visitors to experience the history of the university’s relocation in 1923 and its development between the two world wars in a real-world setting. At each stop, participants can learn about the history of the buildings, the life paths of the professors, and the shaping of the university’s collective memory. For those who prefer to explore from home, all the landmarks are available in a separate menu, offering a virtual experience instead of a physical tour.
