The ProQuest Central multidisciplinary database provides full-text access to millions of publications in the areas of economics, health and medicine, social science, pedagogy, science, performing arts, fine arts, history, religion, philosophy, literature and linguistics.

ProQuest consists of 47 sub-databases that can be searched together and individually. The database provides access to about 18,000 scientific journals but it also makes other texts accessible, e. g. dissertations, workshop reports (over 450,000), industry, business and market reports and the renowned press products of the relevant disciplines (e.g. the Wall Street Journal, the Australian Financial Review, Times of India, Financial Times, Le Monde, The Guardian, etc.).

Neptun (EHA) ID and password required.

The steps are the following:

1. Go to the following page: https://www.proquest.com/shibboleth

2. From the list that appears, select our institution (University of Pécs)

3. On the University of Pécs centralized identification page, enter your Neptun (EHA) code and its associated password. (You can change the language in the top right corner.)

4. Accept the data service.


By registering a user, you can create your own account (My Search), which lets you save documents, searches, and notifications. It is possible to have simple and complex searches, and the results can be narrowed by several criteria (date, document and source type, etc.).

ProQuest Central also includes specific regional periodicals that can help with local history and regional research.
